Consistently outstanding food and service. Everything is fresh, flavorful and generous portions. Their mole dishes are absolutely fantastic, as are the fajitas, salads, guacamole and the salsa is the best around. The lunch specials are delicious, including the burritos, as is the amazing crispy avocado tacos on Taco Tuesday. Enjoy the fresh brewed iced tea and flan for dessert as a must! We have been coming here since they opened 20 years ago!!

I've been bringing my family and friends to this restaurant for over 15 years. The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. I just had lunch here today and was served by Magna. I had the chicken burrito from the lunch menu. As always my food was delicious and the warm service and atmosphere will keep me coming back. Try the tortilla soup, it's one of my favorite items on the menu. Thank you especially to Magna who is always there with a warm and welcoming smile. See you again soon!

Let me preface my review by disclosing that I really dislike Mexican food. Mexican people are lovely, the beaches are beautiful and Mexico City is one of my favorite cities. Mexican food, on the other hand, is probably my least favorite cuisine. I will eat it only under duress. Last night presented duress. We were trying to get to the Home Depot on 163rd and the traffic was so horrendous, we ended up wedged into a turn lane on Biscayne Boulevard. The best option was to pull into the strip mall where Cheen-Huaye is located and have dinner while waiting for the traffic to die down. Eating here would not be my first choice, or my second choice, or anything other than my last choice, and last night was a last choice kind of evening. That said, there is plenty of free parking in front (although I swear that every other motorist in the lot was drunk or high or both) and the interior of the restaurant is so cute and welcoming! The service was also perfect! We were seated right away and brought menus and water. The menu is small. They have a great selection of tequilas and mezcals, although we were not imbibing last night. We were offered chips and salsa but declined them. I liked that they don't automatically bring them to the table so you stuff your face while waiting for the food. We ordered the shrimp tacos and veggie quesadilla. The tacos came with a black bean puree instead of black beans. I dislike black beans and yet the puree was absolutely delicious! The shrimp were large and nestled inside of a corn tortilla. Yuck on the corn tortilla, but that's my personal preference; I think they taste like feet. The quesadilla (flour tortilla, thankfully!) had a good amount of veggies and a mild melty cheese. I am not a big cheese eater and I find cheddar and jack cheeses to be the most offensive members of the cheese family, so I liked that the cheese here was more of a texture than a flavor. The pico de gallo that came on the side was fantastic. I gave the sour cream that came with it (another big yuck) to Larry. The food was prepared well and very fresh, even though it's not to my liking. I think if someone likes Mexican food, this place is a slam dunk!

We have my daughter visiting from NYC for the holidays and decided to try a Mexican restaurant that we've been wanting to try for a year or so. We found the perfect occasion to go to this restaurant, as my daughter is a huge fan of Mexican cuisine. Our family, being originally from Los Angeles, our family was very accustomed to great Mexican food. Although we've been very apprehensive about trying true Mexican cuisine in Miami, we weren't deterred by our past experiences here. We've tried quite a few different restaurants for tacos, burritos, etc. and have been pretty much underwhelmed by the quality and taste of the Mexican cuisine here in Miami. Whereas, other Latin foods are well represented (Brazilian, Peruvian, Puerto Rican, etc) but not authentic Mexican cuisine. Upon entering Chen-Huaye, we were warmly greeted and seated immediately (we were very early for dinner, arriving around 5pm). Seared immediately and offered drinks and appetizers. We ordered a serving of guacamole with chips and salsa. Please note: all sauces and the guacamole were made fresh. We also ordered the tortilla soup (so unique and quite delicious!) Everything was delicious and very nicely portioned. The waitress quickly refilled our chips and salsa, which was very appreciated. I forgot to mention, our waitress was so very pleasant, smiling and was so very hospitable and friendly, which was very welcomed. For our mains: an order of one of the most popular skirt steak items (sorry that I can't remember the name, but I guarantee that you'll love it. Also cooked a perfect medium rare as ordered), an order of chicken Floutas and an order of Seafood Cerviche. Can't say enough how fresh and tasty everything was, including the house made habanero sauce! Lots of tasty delectable heat with a smoky finish! Simply put, exquisite, especially if you are looking for something that adds a beautiful spicy heat to your dish. Flavors are very authentic Mexican flavors (with only a small American influence) , very fresh taste and oh so flavorful. All in all, a truly wonderful experience and need I say, we will be back. Lastly, prices are very affordable and well worth it, as is the top notch friendly service! Thank you Chen-Hauye for a wonderful experience with some amazing food!

Their food is fresh, and delicious! I love the seasonings they used and how tender their steak was. Their service was on point, and the music playing in the background was really good. Highly recommend this restaurant! It's my third time going, and it never disappoints!

We came here for my boss' bday and had a great time! Everything came out fresh and our server was awesome. Doesnt look like much from the outside but its very cute inside. I would definitely try another entree next time, the mole got over powering by the end of it. The tacos looked pretty standard, so I'd skip those. Everyone loved the tamarindos and fresh lemonade!
